AB60, the bill sponsored by State Assembly member and Transportation Committee Chair Pedro Nava, is controversial, even among bicyclists. As a participant of the California Bicycle Coalition’s legislative committee, EBBC supports working with Nava to improve the bill and increase its likelihood of enactment. The discussion about AB60 in the media, as exemplified by a recent Oakland Tribune editorial on the bill has, once again, underscored the need for increased motorist education about bicyclist’s right to the road.
