Fremont will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 23 at the Conrad E. Anderson, M.D. Auditoriums, 2500 Mowry Avenue (Washington West) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Approximately 40 exhibitors will be on hand to share various environmental messages. Earth Day visitors will have a chance to learn more about waste reduction and recycling, conserving water, reducing energy use, protecting wildlife and the watershed, preventing pollution, reducing the use of toxic products at home, and bay friendly gardening techniques.
Valet Bicycle Parking will be provided. Everyone is encouraged to drive a little less and ride their bike to the Earth Day Fair. For those that ride their bike to the fair, make sure to partake in the bicycle skill challenge offered by The Bicycle Garage, a local bike shop. Volunteers will also be on hand to talk about joining the local bicycle club, upcoming bicycling safety skills classes, and sign ups for “Bike-to-Work Day” on May 12. The City’s Bicycle Pedestrian Technical Advisory Committee will be distributing Fremont bikeway maps to provide guidance on recommended bike routes.
