Caltrans is now taking applications for membership on the District 4 Bicycle Advisory Committee (D4 BAC). Attached is the application form with instructions. (See attached file: D4 BAC Application 2010.doc)
Per recently adopted charter, D4 BAC membership is drawn from San Francisco Bay Area transportation agency staff and bicycle advocates. We are currently looking for committee members who represent a local or regional transportation agency in one of the nine Bay Area counties (San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Napa, Sonoma and Marin). The D4 BAC meets quarterly (January, April, July, October) on the third Wednesday of the month from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Caltrans building at 111 Grand Avenue in Oakland. Members have the option of participating by phone, although in-person attendance is encouraged. The deadline for applications is Friday, October 15, 2010.
Existing members of the D4 BAC are asked to apply for formal membership. We appreciate the significant contribution that members who have served on the D4 BAC over the last several years have made and hope that they will apply.
We strongly encourage those who are interested and have not or not regularly participated as committee members to consider applying. All applicants, regardless of current membership status, will be given equal consideration and will be evaluated based on their responses to the questions in the application.
