Albany Bike Rodeo

Saturday, October 17, 2009 - 10:00am to 2:00pm

This Saturday, the Albany Police Activities League (APAL) will host a bicycle rodeo at Cornell School. This FREE event will include bicycle inspections done by the experts from Solano Cyclery, a confidence course organized by Albany Strollers & Rollers, a free helmet given to the first 100 youth participants, and raffle prizes. One of the highlights of the day is the show given by 2Hip the Professional Stunt Riding Team.

The Goal of the Bicycle Rodeo is to encourage riders to wear helmets on every ride, to give young cyclists basic skills for on-road riding, and to teach them the rules of the road to help keep them safe. This rodeo focuses on young riders in elementary and middle school.

The bicycle rodeo is presented as a partnership between the Albany Police Department, the Albany Police Activities League, the Albany Strollers and Rollers, and Solano Cyclery

Cornell School is at 920 Talbot Avenue, Albany.
