Join Cherry City Cyclists and Bike Walk San Leandro for our first excursion ride outside of the East Bay! Total ride will be 15-20 miles.
Explore a new road or ride this favorite spot with lots of space for recreational and seasoned riders along the Crystal Springs Reservoir. A 4-mile stretch is closed to vehicles on Sundays in the Peninsula. The next 3.5 miles is a wide shoulder also used by bicyclists to Robert’s Market. Experience this popular hub and meeting place. Rest here or continue on and see the expansive (and expensive!) real estate on an additional 5-mile loop from Whiskey Hill to Mountain Home Road back to the market. From Robert’s, we will ride back to the start together. For those new to the area, the undulating terrain is varied from flats to slight inclines, to doable gradual grades and downhills. A good area to play and practice your skills. Join us for post-ride meal if interested.
Let’s carpool or convoy. If you can drive others, please let us know how many riders and bikes you can accommodate so that we can coordinate those who are interested so that no rider is stranded. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you plan to drive to the start, meet on Cañada Road & Highway 92 in San Mateo. RSVP to email@example.com
For those who know the area well, feel free to extend the distance for a longer ride.
Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and $ for food.
