EBBC Membership Meeting

The next EBBC General Membership Meeting begins at 7:30pm Tuesday (third Tues.), April 17 at Oakland’s Rockridge Library, 5366 College Ave at Manila. Bicycles welcome inside.

Preliminary Agenda

  • Report on Alameda County's draft Bicycle Event Ordinance to regulate club rides
  • Report on Alameda Sheriff's traffic enforcement
  • Consideration of support for AB 163 (Mendoza) Bike Facilities in State buildings
  • Report on the other nine (9!) EBBC-supported legislative bills—including AB 1358, Complete Streets Act. Please review legislation and write support to your State politicians or register for Pedal Power Lobbying Day and join us in Sacramento on May 1 & 2
  • Report on plans for multiple Earth Day events and May Bike Month activities.

At 8:30pm our guest speaker, Eric McCaughrin, EBBC Director and web genius, will present “Web Tools for Bicycle Advocacy Success.” The totally new ebbc.org web site offers tremendous opportunities for individuals to participate in a democratic forum. Unless you stopped learning when IBM punchcards formed a barrier to computer use, you will want to take notes on the rudimentary aspects of using our new “content management system.” Already, the site is loaded with breaking transportation news feeds and fun touring reports. Learn how to post in the Event Calendar, how to comment in blogs and forums, and how to share images or videos with others.
