Comment Cards on Preferred Telegraph Bikeway Due May 19

Monday, May 19, 2014 - 5:00pm to 5:05pm

Thank you everyone for attending one of the Telegraph Avenue Complete Streets Open Houses. You and over 250 people made a strong case for better bikeways on Telegraph Ave. Also thanks to Councilmembers Dan Kalb, Lynette McElhaney and Rebecca Kaplan for your support at these Open Houses. Oakland city staff heard loud and clear from so many supporters that protected bikeways are the preferred option.

For those who were unable to attend an open house, here is an electronic version of the Public Comment Card used at the open houses—please fill it out and pass along to your friends. The Comment Card provides a direct link to the relevant Open House poster boards for each question. All of the Open House materials are also available on our project website at www.oaklandnet.com/TelegraphAvenue. Please return any comment cards to Jamie Parks via email at jparks@oaklandnet.com on or before May 19.

Make no mistake, there are people who oppose this project for a variety of reasons, from concerns about congestion, parking, and turning movements. Our preferred option addresses all of these concerns, but we need your help outreaching to businesses. If you can help, contact Dave Campbell, Bike East Bay Advocacy Director.
