Fancy a ride in the countryside? Then join us May 3-4 as we bike up Mount Diablo and camp at 3,000 feet!

On May 3 we will all meet at the Pleasant Hill BART Station in the late morning. We will start by biking along the famous Iron Horse and Contra Costa Canal Trails. Turn south and the smooth bike lanes melt away as you leave suburbia behind, rolling along the windy country road leading to the climb up Mount Diablo.

We will bike to our group campsite on the shoulder of the mountain and spend the rest of the day hiking or relaxing at camp. An afternoon ride to the summit is optional. After a hearty group dinner, we’ll camp under the stars. After a lazy morning around camp, we’ll pack up and descend back through Walnut Creek to the BART station.

Bike Walnut Creek will provide dinner and breakfast at the group campsite. Participants will be responsible for two lunches, all snacks and drinks, and all personal camping equipment. Participants will need to carry up most or all of their own camping gear as there is limited space in the SAG Van.

Suggested donation is $50/person, with a maximum of 25 participants. Any donation amount above that is very much appreciated and will help make this fundraiser a true success!
