Bike Donation Drive with Cycles of Change and the Oakland Public Library

Saturday, May 24, 2014 - 10:00am

Donate your old bicycle to Cycles of Change and help support sustainable communities. Cycles of Change fixes up old bikes at the Bikery, a community bike shop in East Oakland, and returns them to the community through its school-based bicycle education, job training, and community earn-a-bike programs. We are gratefully accepting donations of your complete, working and almost working bicycles and usable bike parts. All donations are tax-deductible, and each person who donates will receive a 20% off coupon for the Friends Bookmark Bookstore!

You can donate your bike at the Bikery or at the Main Library just this one day only!

We’re also looking for volunteers to help us take in donations, so please email Mana Tominaga at mtominaga@oaklandlibrary.org if you’re intersted in helping out.

This program is part of the Book to Action program, a California statewide book club that includes helping your community. Read a book, ride a bike, and help make Oakland a better place. Book to Action is supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
