The (much appreciated) bike lane is split between a concrete half and a bitumen half. Since there is heavy traffic on Buchanan street, I like to ride on the bitumen half nearest the curb. Then you run into this pothole. There is actually another - less deep - on Buchanan about 50 yards west of Polk St, also. This is not so serious as the one I described on the east side of Polk. UPDATE 1-24-14: Submitted to Albany (PW & administrator Amy Alvidrez within that department); will report any progess they relay back. UPDATE 1-28-14: Albany's Project Engineer for the bike lane responded (via Amy): “We are going to conduct a pavement project this summer and the potholes along the bikelane on Buchanan will be filled with this contract.” My reply: "I haven't personally seen how hazardous the potholes are. Hopefully her survey will reveal if they need immediate repair before the big paving project." Amy agreed - let's hope they repair any uneven surface rather than wait for the total repavement later this year.
