Dear Piedmonter: On Monday February 11, 2013, the Planning Commission will hold a hearing to discuss an initial draft outline of what should be in the City's combined Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan (with a "Safe Routes to School" component). Attached is a summary of the project along with the proposed draft outline. Both are also located on the City's website with links to more information on bicycle and pedestrian plans in general. The meeting will start at 5:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, at 120 Vista Avenue, Piedmont, CA 94611.
The Planning Commission will discuss the outline and will invite public testimony. The City's website at www.ci.piedmont.ca.us has a special heading that will provide updated information on the progress of the Bike/Ped Plan, including the grant funding application process which will likely begin mid-February. You are encouraged to attend the February 11th meeting and express your opinions and ideas on the outline, or you may wish to watch the public hearing on KCOM, cable 20. Alternatively, if you want to watch the meeting live or later after the meeting, you can do so by logging on to the City's website at www.ci.piedmont.ca.us: on the right hand side of the homepage under the "City Council" heading, click on the "Online Video" link, then scroll down under the "Sections on this Page" heading, click on the "Planning Commission" link, then on the "February 11th meeting", click on the "Video" link and start watching! The Bike/Ped Plan discussion is the third item on the agenda, and you can go directly to the discussion by scrolling down the agenda and clicking on it.
Additionally, please feel free to email comments to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be forwarded to the Planning Commission members. You are receiving this notice because you indicated an interest in participating in planning-related projects or in the City's Bicycle Plan in the past. Please let me know if you do not want to receive future notices related to this project, and I will remove you from the list. Thank you for your continued interest in Piedmont's planning efforts. Please let your friends and neighbors know about this important city-wide project! Sincerely, Kate Black City Planner
