When: Thursday, Sept. 20, 6 to 7 p.m.
Where: West Oakland Senior Center, 1724 Adeline Street (at 18th Street), Oakland
What: This is your opportunity to hear from all of the BART District 7 board candidates, and ask them questions on all of the issues that are important to you.
The BART rush hour bike ban removal pilot went great, but it will still be up to the individual BART board members to decide whether or not to continue with the ban removal in the future. That's why it is so important that we elect bike-friendly representatives to the board this year, and that we know what their positions are before voting so there won't be any surprises down the line.
BART District 7 covers most of West Contra Costa County as well as Emeryville and sections of Albany, Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco, including the transbay connection.
The four candidates are Maria Alegria, of Pinole; Margaret Gordon, of Oakland; Zakhary Mallett, of El Sobrante; and incumbent Lynette Sweet, of San Francisco.
The co-hosts are West Oakland Neighbors, Jack London District Association, Dogtown Neighborhood Association, West Oakland Commerce Association, Oak Center Neighborhood Association, Adams Point Neighborhood Association, Old Oakland Neighborhood Association, West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project and Prescott-Oakland Point Neighborhood Association.
