Every year, Bike East Bay recognizes businesses that go above and beyond in encouraging their employees or customers to ride bikes. These Bike-Friendly Business Awards highlight the accomplishments of three East Bay companies and encourage others to follow their example.
Businesses stand to benefit from bicycling in several ways. Employees that bike to work call in sick less often and are more productive during their work hours. Retail stores that provide good bike access increase their sales by making it easier for customers to visit their stores. Bicycles are good for business, and more and more companies are starting to catch on.
Bike East Bay will accept nominations from February 7 to March 9. One small, one medium, and one large business will be recognized.
To be eligible, a business must be located in Alameda County or Contra Costa County. Outside the area? Check out the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition’s Bike-Friendly Business Resources and the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition’s Bicycle Friendly Workplace Program.
Anyone can submit a nomination! Help us recognize your favorite bike-friendly business.
