The East Bay Bicycle Coalition is working on your behalf every day to make sure that you can ride safely and easily to your destination, whether it’s work, the grocery store or the park. * Extending Bikeways & Closing Gaps – Projects occured throughout the East Bay, such as the freshly paved bike lanes around Lake Merritt in Oakland
* Secure Bike Parking – Over 300 electronic bike lockers were installed in East Bay BART Stations
* Safety First – We began offering Bike Safety Classes year-round, so that bicyclists – young and old, new and continuing – will join the ranks of safe, smart riders throughout the East Bay.
* Bike to Work Day – EBBC founded the event in 1994 and we set new records in 2009.
* Growing the Bicycle Coalition – In May we hired our first outreach coordinator, and we’ve already seen an increase in membership. We are excited to continue to build our coalition and strengthen the voice of bicyclists in the East Bay in 2010.
