Honoring the Life of Julia Duvall

Author: bcomadmin

Date: April 14, 2016

We are remembering and celebrating Julia Duvall and her unborn baby, Liam Avery Duvall, who were tragically lost to us far too soon.  Julia was an incredibly smart, funny, and beautiful woman; a wife, a daughter, a sister, and soon to be the most amazing mother.

Julia was passionate about many things, and after experiencing a collision while biking she became more passionate about urban bike safety.  Her work at Alta Planning + Design reflected her commitment to safer and more comfortable bicycling facilities for people of all ages and abilities, and inspiring more women to ride.

Julia’s family has suggested that friends and family make a donation to Bike East Bay’s Women Bike Program in remembrance of Julia.

Bike East Bay’s new Women Bike program aims to encourage and inspire more women to bike.

We are providing social opportunities for women new or newer to biking to share experiences and engage with a warm and welcoming community. The Women Bike program is also partnering on inclusive and supportive educational opportunities, so folks can learn and practice. We are connecting women who already bike with Bike East Bay’s transformative advocacy, as well as enabling more women to lead their communities to better biking.

For more information including upcoming program events like our Book Club, Oakland Happy Hours and Mother’s Day CycloFemme rides, visit BikeEastBay.org/WomenBike.

Your donation in honor of Julia Duvall helps support this budding program. Thank you.
