The card reader for the entrance to the 24-hour, self-serve bike station at 2208 Shattuck in downtown Berkeley needs fixing. It does not reliably read the cards without very forcefully jamming the card into the machine. The machine didn't used to require such force. UPDATE 2-19-18: Robert Prinz (Bike East Bay) forwarding to Gene Oh, of BikeHub which runs the BART bike stations. UPDATE 2-20-18: Zac Diener of BikeLink jumped in and had the card reader replaced. However, the equipment appeared to be in good condition, so it could be the user's card could be failing. Worth replacing immediately to remove that possibility.
