Vineyard Ave Pleasanton, between Isabel Ave and Old Vineyard intersections. The annual arrival of Goathead thorns around August and September. It is mainly on the Westbound side of the road. I see Pleasanton trims the overgrowth of weeds in the spring, but they trim down to about 4 inches, and the Goatheads are a ground hugging plant, rising no more than 1 inch above the ground. So they remain and flourish. The time to do something is now. Spray? while they are just starting (April, May) and not in the fall when removal will spread the seeds. UPDATE 4-23-15: Submitted to Pleasanton PW asking if it's feasible and how best to achieve a satisfactory outcome.
