Fruitvale Avenue Street Redesign Community Meeting

Thursday, May 26, 2016 - 7:00pm to 8:00pm 1642 Fruitvale Avenue, Miraculous Foundation Christian Center Church

Oakland Public Works and Councilmember Noel Gallo host a community workshop to consider a road diet with bike lanes and improved safer pedestrian crossings on Fruitvale Avenue, between International Blvd and Foothill Blvd. These bike lanes are long overdue, as much community input in the Fruitvale Alive! Plan asked for bike lanes on Fruitvale Avenue.

New bike lanes on this stretch of Fruitvale Avenue will improve the bike commutes of hundreds of residents bicycling to the Fruitvale District to shop and to Fruitvale BART everyday. Please come and help spread the word to complete this major gap in Oakland’s bikeway network.

Oakland will be striping an uphill bike lane on Fruitvale Avenue east of Foothill Blvd as part of an upcoming repaving project. And Oakland has also designed a wonderful protected bike lane and streetscape project on west of San Leandro Blvd on Fruitvale Blvd.

If you can’t make the community meeting, please send an email to Wlad Wlassowsky, Project Manager for City of Oakland, and to Councilmember Noel Gallo, Council District 5
