You are invited to a neighborhood meeting tonight at Elm Playlot (Pogo Park) to preview and discuss the new traffic circle / roundabout that will be installed on the corner of 8th Street and Elm Avenue.
Pogo Park secured a $50,000 PLAY 60, Play On grant from the NFL’s 50 Fund to design, plan, and install this roundabout by the Super Bowl on February 7, 2016.
The traffic-calming measures planned for this intersection will prevent cars from racing through the two stop signs at 8th Street and Elm Avenue (sometimes without even slowing down!) and putting the lives of thousands of local children who play regularly at this park at risk.
Once completed, this traffic-calming installation will serve as a demonstration model for the Yellow Brick Road.
Representatives from Pogo Park, the City of Richmond, transportation engineers Fehr & Peers and Local Government Commission will be at tonight’s meeting to discuss the plans for the traffic circle. We invite you to attend, learn more about our plans, ask questions, and give your input.
We will be serving chili and cornbread until the food runs out.
We hope to see you there!
