Join the East Bay Easy Riders, led by Mary Ann and Murphy, along with Bike East Bay for a flat 16-mile out-and-back ride from Richmond BART to Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline Park. We’ll meet at 10am and depart onto the Richmond Greenway, passing lovely gardens and murals, then onto the Wildcat Marsh & Landfill Loop Trail along the bay. We’ll continue on-street to Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline Park.
Nearly all of this ride will be on paved trails or streets with bike lanes. There is a fairly short stretch of pea gravel and a hard packed dirt trail, so those with skinny tires take care, or break out the fat tires for this ride! We’ll take a lunch break at shaded tables with cool breezes along the shoreline.
We’ll return to Richmond BART station on winding urban streets between 2 and 3 p.m. Round trip is about 16 miles, plus any exploring we do on smooth asphalt trails or leaf covered dirt trails at Pt. Pinole Regional Shoreline Park.
This will be a social, scenic touring ride! If you’re comfortable on a bike, and ride around some, this ride will be a wonderful way to explore new trails and ride with a group, enjoying amazing views almost the whole ride. Make sure your bike is in good working order, and bring a lunch, water, sunscreen, and your friends!
