Oakland Bicyclist and Pedestrian Advisory Commission Meeting

Oakland’s Bicyclist & Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) was established to advise the City Council on programs and projects related to walking and bicycling.

On the agenda:

  • Nominations/Elections for BPAC Chair and Vice Chair (10 minutes)— Staff will facilitate nominations/elections for 2018 BPAC Officers.
  • Bi-Annual Report on Development Projects Attachment (25 minutes)—Robert Merkamp, Acting Zoning Manager in the Planning Department, will share information on the state of development
    activity and the process for current planning.
  • Zone Analysis for Bicycle Planning (25 minutes)—Noel Pond-Danchik and Jason Patton from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Program will present the “Zone Analysis for Bicycle Planning,” which analyzes bicycle use, socioeconomics, geography, and infrastructure to help understand the diversity of Oakland’s neighborhoods and the needs of Oakland’s residents.   • BPAC 2016 Annual Report: Staff Response to BPAC Recommendations (15 minutes)—Jason Patton, Bicycle & Pedestrian Program Manager, will present City Staff’s response to the recommendations in BPAC’s 2016 Annual Report. The response was requested by the Public Works Committee and presented at the Committee’s meeting on January 9. The staff report is available at: http://bit.ly/PWorksReport.
  • Infrastructure Committee Report Back (15 minutes)— Robert Prinz with the BPAC’s Infrastructure Committee will share information on the projects reviewed and feedback given at the Committee’s November 2017 meeting.
