Walk, stroll and roll through Niles Canyon! On Saturday, September 30, 2017, Highway 84 through Niles Canyon will close to cars for you to explore on foot and by bike. The road will be open to cyclists only from 7am-8am, and then for everyone from 8am-2pm. Learn more at the event website and RSVP on Facebook.

Visit Bike East Bay’s tent for free stickers and more information about an initiative to develop the Niles Canyon Trail, a walking and biking path through the canyon.

The Niles Canyon Stroll and Roll is spearheaded by Supervisors Scott Haggerty and Richard Valle. Niles Canyon is located in an unincorporated area of Alameda County lying between the Niles district of the City of Fremont and the Town of Sunol. Formed by Alameda Creek, the Canyon’s steep slopes, stunning vistas, dense vegetation, and wildlife have made it a destination for visitors for more than 100 years.
