Calling all cyclists!
We’re writing to invite you to pump up the pedal power at our community powered concert on June 15 at the Montclair Beer, Wine and Music Festival. It’s like free spin classes with awesome live bands. We’re aiming for a 100% people powered show, so we’re shouting out for strong cyclists to help crank out the watts alongside kids and festival goers!
The festival – presented by The Montclair Village Association and Winter Williams - is a fundraiser for the Montclair Village Plaza Campaign (a $750,000 capital campaign to create a public plaza for community engagement, public events, cultural arts and youth enrichment by rebuilding Antioch Court).
Activities include free live local music on a pedal-powered stage, an interactive Play Palooza Fun Zone and ticketed wine and beer tasting. This is our 3rd year working in collaboration with Rock the Bike festival participation in this way. Past events required us to use battery assist to power the stage due to limited cycling abilities of our public. As an experienced rider, we humbly invite YOU to pedal so we can guarantee a fully sustainable venue for our performers.
Every 45 minutes slot requires a minimum of 4 avid cyclists to generate enough convertible stage energy. We’ll need 36 of you to lead the way for on-site volunteers of all ages from the general audience. We will provide each cyclist 21 or over a FREE tasting package valued at $30, samples of pedal-powered smoothies, water and an unlimited amount of cheerleading support in the shade!
Please join us in this family friendly community building extravaganza. We need you, your friends, your family and anyone else you know to jump on a bike and spin their hearts out to support a free space for public events in Montclair Village. We have included an event promo page in addition to a sign-up sheet HERE to make it easy for you to join us.
See you on Mountain Blvd between Medau Place and La Salle Ave 12-6pm Saturday June 15!
