Join Bike East Bay, Bike Concord, Bike Walnut Creek, Bike Martinez, Bike Orinda, Rich City Rides, Delta Pedalers, Bike Lafayette and many volunteers and partner organizations such as Transform and Greenbelt Alliance at the March 9 board meeting of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. Our push for major increases in bike funding reaches a milestone.
The Board will consider for the first time a Draft Transportation Expenditure Plan of how to spend an estimated $2.3 billion in new transportation funding from a local sales tax to go on the November 2016 ballot. We are pushing for 15% of funding to bike-ped projects, including $200 million in major complete street projects, and 5% for dedicated bike-ped funding. We are also supporting Greenbelt Alliance’s ask to incentivize infill development and keep growth off the ridgelines and away from greenfields surrounding Mount Diablo.
Come speak in support or just show your support along with other local leaders. RSVP on Facebook.
