On July 19th the City of Fremont’s Bicycle Advisory Commission, which consists of members from the Recreation Commission, will be tasked with reviewing the draft Bicycle Master Plan and recommending it to council. In the past, this Commission has been less supportive of staff’s work designing innovative bikeways and protected intersections. Whether we’re talking about recreation routes or commute routes, we need them to support a complete, connected network of bikeways throughout the City.
They need to hear your support for this ambitious plan!
Join us and tell the Recreation Commission members that the “All Ages and Abilities” network proposed in the Bicycle Master Plan is a bold and necessary approach to implementing the General Plan and Vision Zero. Compromises on designs are compromises to residents’ safety and we are confident that city staff is setting the course for a safe, connected, and bikeway network that offers a balanced approach and considers all modes of transportation.
The agenda for the July 19 Recreation Commission Meeting to discuss the Bicycle Master Plan can be viewed here once it is made available on Friday July 14, 2017.
