Active Transportation Program (ATP) Grant Fund Projects - 45 Minutes
The State of California recently issued a call for projects for Cycle 3 Active Transportation Program (ATP) grant funds. The ATP funds consists of State and Federal dollars with the goal and purpose to encourage and increase bicycling and walking trips statewide.
For the 2016 ATP grant cycle the City of Fremont is proposing the Walnut Avenue Multimodal Complete Streets project between Mission Boulevard and Argonaut Way and the Fremont Boulevard Multimodal Complete Streets project between Mowry Avenue and Stevenson Boulevard.
The projects would involve installation of buffered and separated bike lanes, protected intersections, and pedestrian crossing safety improvements. The grant applications are due June 15, 2016 with up to $240 million dollars available to communities statewide.
