This is the third training ride in a multi-ride series leading up to the 2016 California Climate Ride (May 22-26). Everyone is welcome to join us for this ride, whether you are planning on participating in the Climate Ride or not. However, all participants will need to bring their own working bike and helmet, as well as any water and snacks you may need on the ride, sunscreen, money for BART and lunch (or bring your lunch with you), and good spirits!
This hilly and moderate-paced ride will start right outside the Rockridge BART Station, then ascend gradually over 1,200 feet into the Oakland hills on Tunnel Road and Skyline Blvd. At mile 6 we will regroup to catch our breath at Sibley Park before heading up another 300 feet on Grizzly Peak Blvd, checking out the beautiful views before descending into downtown Berkeley via Spruce Street. Riders can then get some lunch and hop on BART at the Downtown Berkeley station, or pedal back to the start at Rockridge BART.
This will be our first training ride with elevation and fewer good bail-out spots, so please make sure your bike and all your gears are in good working order ahead of time.

This ride is a good way to meet other people going on the Climate Ride, ask questions about what to expect on the ride, as well as get a great, panoramic view of the bay. ***Ride will be canceled in the event of rain***
