This is the second training ride in a multi-ride series leading up to the 2016 California Climate Ride (May 22-26). Everyone is welcome to join us for this ride, whether you are planning on participating in the Climate Ride or not. However, all participants will need to bring their own working bike and helmet, as well as any water and snacks you may need on the ride, sunscreen, money for BART and lunch (or bring your lunch with you), and good spirits!
This flat and moderate-paced ride will start at the Fruitvale BART Station in Oakland, head south through Alameda, then onto the Bay Trail past the Oakland Airport and into San Leandro. We will then move inland and wend our way through Hayward on calm, neighborhood routes, with an option to cut your ride short by heading to the Hayward BART station around mile 16. Continuing south through Union City we will then hop onto the Alamo Creek trail around mile 23 to take us the rest of the way to the Fremont BART station.

This ride is a good way to meet other people going on the Climate Ride, ask questions about what to expect on the ride, as well as test out your bike and equipment in a flat, urban setting before heading out on one of our future rides where we will encounter more elevation and fewer amenities.
