Community forum discussing the pros and cons of an elected MAC

Give Castro Valley a stronger voice!

An elected MAC is affordable and promotes democracy for our unincorporated community of 63,000

We, the people of Castro Valley, should decide who speaks for Castro Valley

  • Elections are the most democratic way for CV residents to select their MAC representatives and would cost just 81 cents per voter per year.

  • Elected MAC members would be accountable to the voters of Castro Valley.

  • This is a step towards more local control without the cost of incorporation.

  • Elections would create public engagement on issues affecting our community.

  • An elected MAC is a stronger voice whose planning and general advice will be legitimized by

    Castro Valley voters.

“I support an elected MAC in Castro Valley. The residents of this unincorporated community should have a greater ability to weigh in on the decisions affecting their future.”
    Senator Bob Wieckowski
