The ribbon cutting will start 10:30am at the intersection of Telegraph Ave and 27th Street. Or meet us at 9:30am at Oakland City Hall for an optional, short bike ride together to the event, heading out at 10am.
At long last the Telegraph concrete-protected bikeways and protected intersections between 20th and 29th Streets are complete! This marks the culmination of our multi decades-long campaign, resulting in a unanimous City Council vote in 2021 to upgrade this segment from plastic posts to concrete, instead of downgrading it to paint-only.
Join us along with Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao, DOT Director Josh Rowan, as well as other staff and local advocates who make this project a reality, to celebrate this project and build support for many more!
