ABOUT THE ‘GREEN MOBILITY AMBASSADORS’ PROGRAM

This session is part of Bike East Bay’s ‘Green Mobility Ambassadors’ program with topics offered, made possible with financial support from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s James Cary Smith Community Grants Program.

The public process for transportation infrastructure projects, plans, and policies can seem complex and daunting. Via this program participants gain information and strategies to navigate this process and be effective advocates. These trainings prepare individuals to engage in their own advocacy and education on transportation and accessibility projects and programs.

COMPENSATION AND ACCESSIBILITY

Monetary compensation is available to individuals who would otherwise not be able to participate in this training due to time or resource constraints.

Several individuals who commit to participating in the entire series may also be eligible to be hired as Green Mobility Ambassadors, a part-time hourly staff position with Bike East Bay. This will enable more broad participation and experience than is possible via a typical volunteer advocate model, as not everyone has the same access and resources to participate in the planning process.

Email advocacy@BikeEastBay.org to inquire about participating in this session with compensation, or if you would like to participate but have technology concerns or access limitations.
