Help Create a Plan to Fix El Cerrito Streets
According to independent experts El Cerrito is among the top ten Bay Area cities with the worst streets. In the next five years the City’s average rating for streets will drop from fair to poor if roads are not maintained.
El Cerrito has urgent pothole and neighborhood street repair needs. The sixty-eight miles of roads particualry residential streets are in disrepair because they are old or have not been maintained due to lack of dedicated funding.
- It is estimated that more than $20 million is needed to fund the backlog of roadwork.
- These essential repairs should be made immediately because waiting will only make our streets more dangerous and more expensive to fix.
- Without additional funding our street and road infrastructure will only deteriorate further.
Based on these current needs the City has begun to assess community priorities. You are encouraged to participate. We want to hear from you please help us come up with a plan that works for El Cerrito.
