***Please note: This class was rescheduled and is now being held on Sunday, April 23.***
We’ll cover on-road, on-your-bike practice sessions, working in small groups with our certified instructors to improve your handling skills, emergency maneuvers, and ability to confidently and safely share the road with other traffic. Every attendee will receive a free set of bike lights!!!
This class is located very convenient to transit, just 1 mile south from the El Cerrito BART station, or 1.5 miles north of the N Berkeley BART station, along the Ohlone Greenway.
Attending one of our “Day 1” Urban Cycling 101: Classroom Workshops is normally a prerequisite to taking a Road Class. However, if you can not make one of our classroom sessions and still want to sign up for a road class please contact our Education Director Robert at robert@BikeEastBay.org for an alternate arrangement.
A functional bike and helmet are required to participate. Any minors joining us for this class must be accompanied by an adult. This is not a learn-to-ride class, and all participants are expected to be comfortable with the basics of balancing, pedaling, and steering.
Drinks and snacks are provided. However, if you will need a substantial meal before the end of class please bring it with you as our schedule will not allow us to eat off-site.
