Oakland is updating its Bicycle Plan (draft plan available here) in conjunction with a new Downtown Oakland Specific Plan for development and streetscape improvements. At the same time, large projects are developing quickly, including a new Oakland Athletics ballpark at Howard Terminal and the Oakland-Alameda Access Project. We have a unique opportunity to design a useable network of modern bikeways that are comfortable, safe, and convenient. And we have the momentum to get them built soon.
We have updates on each project and ways to stay involved. Come give your input on key issues, which streets, and what types of bikeways.
