Bicycle-Friendly Driver Workshop - Concord

This 1-hour class is made possible via a partnership with the Concord Library and funding from Kaiser Permanente. This is an indoor, classroom-only workshop, so no bike is required in order to participate.

Biking is becoming even more popular for people travelling around in the East Bay, but driver testing and training is not keeping up with today's infrastructure. At this class we will discuss bike safety from a driver perspective, and answer questions you might have about new bikeways. This class is great for beginners and experienced drivers alike.

We'll cover a number of interesting topics, including:

  • Different types of bikeways, and what they're for
  • Bicyclist rights and responsibilities
  • Avoiding common bike/car conflicts
  • Improving safety though visibility and predicability
