Full ride is 73 miles with 1,800 feet of climbing. We'll spend the day biking up the Carquinas Straits and across the valley, then take the Amtrak Capitol Corridor train back from Davis. Route for this 73 mile ride: www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/340793497
Amtrak tickets are usually around $25, and you can get discounts if you purchase early. The Bay Area train stops are Martinez, Richmond, Berkeley, Emeryville, and Oakland/Jack London Square. There's no extra fee to bring bikes on board, but we recommend you bring a cable lock to secure yours. We're aiming for the 4:55 train, and any ticket you purchase will be valid on that train or the following ones if needed. There is a half-way option, taking the train back from the Suisun-Fairfield at around mile 35.
Bring your own working bike and helmet, any water (two bottles recommended) and snacks you may need on the ride, sunscreen, money for Amtrak and lunch (or bring your lunch with you), and good spirits!
We roll out promptly at 9:00am, so be there by 8:45 to sign in and meet everyone.
Rain cancels or postpones. Register to let us know you're coming and be sure you get any last-minute updates.
