In partnership with Bike East Bay, the Oakland Public Library is co-hosting the Women Bike Book Club in 2017! Bike East Bay's Women Bike program is in its second year of bringing women and gender nonconforming folks together in social settings to share experiences and resources with each other.
Everyone is invited to discuss biking, feminism, and the intersection of the two, even if you run out of time to read the book. Join us on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00pm. You're welcome to bring your bike inside.
For the month of July, we're doing something a little different: Show and Tell. Bring something bike-related to share. Did you make a zine? Do you have a favorite route you want to tell us about? Have you sewn your own panniers? Is there a special instagram account, or website, or book that you really love? We'd love to hear about it! We'll also continue last month's discussion of Zines - we'll have some copies for you to look at or even take home.
Upcoming meetings of the Women Bike Book Club: August 10 and September 14 at the Golden Gate Branch (5606 San Pablo Ave).
Stay tuned for future titles, and locations for the end of 2017!
