Bike East Bay staff and board will be leading a series of progressively challenging rides from February to June. We’ll check out longer and hillier routes around the East Bay in a social and supportive setting. This series prepares Bike East Bay’s team for the California Climate Ride, and the rides are open to all. Whether you’re challenging yourself to ride more or making sure you’re fit for your upcoming organized rides or events, we hope you’ll join us this spring.

Due to a washed-out culvert on Alhambra Valley Road we have adjusted this route. This new ride will follow a hilly 29 mile route with 2,900 feet of climbing starting and ending at Orinda BART (route here). We will explore the classic Three Bears route counter-clockwise around the Briones Reservior, then up Pig Farm Hill to Reliez Valley Road all the way around Briones Regional Park. We will then make our way through Lafayette and then down the St Stevens Trail back to Orinda BART.

There is also an option for a shorter ride ending at Pleasant Hill BART (22 miles and 1700 feet of climbing, route here).

Bring your own working bike and helmet, any water and snacks you may need on the ride, sunscreen, money for BART and lunch (or bring your lunch with you), and good spirits!

We roll out promptly at 9:15am, so be there by 9:00 to sign in and meet everyone.

Rain cancels or postpones. Register to let us know you're coming and be sure you get any last-minute updates.
