We love discussing Cyclista Zine! Join us on April 6 to talk about the sixth issue, "Outsider."
"[This issue] shares essays, visual art, photography, thoughts, poetry, rants, stories, how-to’s, and doodles all related to themes of being an outsider OUTSIDE. In collaboration with our contributors, Outsider shares how economic, social, and political constructs have always shaped the way the outdoor industry, recreationists, planning, and environmentalists approach natural and urban spaces.
"Outsider builds on these constructs through questioning the historical, social, and political implications of creating outside and The Outsider. Sure, "we're just riding bikes" but this is often said in an attempt to put aside politics, however, the ability to ride, train, climb, and move across The Land freely is built upon engaging in structures that create Outsiders. And in order to change the future, and to include all life, we must interrogate our narratives as insiders and outsiders."
