The City of San Leandro is engaged in a planning process for biking and walking improvements on Bancroft Avenue and Williams Street, and wants to hear from you.
At this event we will meet up at the San Leandro BART station for a short bike tour to check out the existing street and sidewalk conditions and discuss opportunities, then arrive at a community open house at San Leandro High School (2200 Bancroft Ave) where you can look at concepts and share your ideas. After a half hour at the open house a group ride will be led back to the BART station.
Start: San Leandro BART (location here)
Distance: 10 miles or less (5 miles or less each way), flat terrain
Route: TBD
Time (approximately):
- Ride from BART to San Leandro HS: 10-11am
- Open House at San Leandro HS (2200 Bancroft Ave): 11-11:30am
- Return ride from San Leandro HS to BART: 11:30am-12:30pm
This will be a slow-paced group ride, with short stops throughout for discussion. Participants will be allowed to bring their bikes inside the open house location for safe storage.
All adults are welcome to participate, and any youth under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All riders under 18 must wear a helmet, and everyone should bring their own bicycle.
