Downtown Hayward Bike Tour

Registration is closed for this event
A short, family-friendly bike ride in downtown Hayward, for the purpose of looking at some upcoming safety improvement projects in the works for better bicycling. Stops include Main Street, the Hayward Loop, Mission Blvd, and Meekland Ave in Cherryland. We will end at the new Cherryland Community Center at Meek Park.

Hayward is planning new bike lanes on Main Street downtown, but businesses have concerns about loading/unloading, so we will check this out.

The Hayward Loop creates a safety barrier for access to and from the area south of downtown toward Mission Blvd and Cal State East Bay (Hayward).

Mission Blvd has several planned improvements north of downtown, including safe bike lanes separated and protected from traffic.

Meekland Avenue is a project of Alameda County Public Works, and we are pushing for safe bike lanes away from traffic for parents to feel comfortable letting their kids walk and bike to school.

And we end at the new Cherryland Community Center at Meek Park, that just opened.
