In partnership with Bike East Bay, the Oakland Public Library is co-hosting the Women Bike Book Club in 2017! Bike East Bay's Women Bike program is in its second year of bringing women and gender nonconforming folks together in social settings to share experiences and resources with each other.
Everyone is invited to discuss biking, feminism, and the intersection of the two, even if you run out of time to read the book. Join us on the second Thursday of each month at 6:00pm. You're welcome to bring your bike inside.
We are wrapping up 2017 with a potluck! Bring a dish or snack to share to our meeting on December 14. We'll reflect on the past year and remember our favorite bike happenings of 2017. Share your favorite bike story from this year - most epic ride, that time you got a new bike, the nice green painted lane that popped up in your neighborhood - or look ahead to 2018 and share your dreamy bike plans.
The fun starts at 6pm on Thursday, December 14 at the Golden Gate Branch (5606 San Pablo Ave). You can pick up a copy of our January discussion book, You & A Bike & A Road, by Eleanor Davis.
