In order to maintain social dis tancing and coronavirus safety\, this workshop has a very low student-to-teacher ratio\, so the clas s size is limited. \;If the class is full\, yo u can click here to be added to the wait list or b e notified about future sessions as they are added .\n \n We&rsquo\;ll cover on-road\, on-your-bike p ractice sessions\, working in small groups with ou r certified instructors to improve your handling s kills\, emergency maneuvers\, and ability to confi dently and safely bike on all types of streets and pathways. \;Every attendee will receive a fre e set of bike lights!!!\n \n This class will be sp lit into two parts\, as follows:\n \n \n Part 1\,  \;On-the-bike drills (9am-11am): This first s ection includes a group \;orientation then an on-bike session in a controlled environment like a parking lot or playground blacktop\, practicing b ike handling and hazard avoidance skills in a rela xed setting.\n Part 2\, \;On-road group pract ice (11am-1pm): For this second section instructor s will take participants out on the road around ne arby neighborhoods\, streets\, and paths\, practic ing \;our skills drills in a real world enviro nment.\n \n \n Participants are welcome to join us for just Part 1\, or stick around for both Parts 1 and 2. The free bike lights and other incentives are available for everyone even if they don'\; t participate for both sections\, but any individu als taking this class as a prerequisite for a Leag ue of American Bicyclists instructor certification must attend both.\n \n Attending one of our &ldqu o\;Day 1&rdquo\; Urban Cycling 101: Classroom Work shops is normally a prerequisite to taking a Road Class. However\, if you can not make one of our cl assroom sessions and still want to sign up for a r oad class please contact our Education Director Ro bert at robert@BikeEastBay.org for an alternate ar rangement.\n \n Please bring:\n \n \n A functiona l bicycle and helmet.\n Snacks\, water\, and suns creen.\n A face covering \;(we will provide t hese on site if you do not have your own).\n \n \n Ages 15 \;and up only. Any minors joining us for this class must be accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the class\, and both mus t be registered individually.
