As part of the West Downtown Area Plan, Walnut Creek is redesigning California Blvd, Mt. Diablo Blvd, and Olympic Blvd, and all three streets can include comfortable, low-stress bikeways that are protected from traffic.
In addition, Walnut Creek is working with the County and with Lafayette, to study a pathway connection between the Iron Horse Trail and the Lafayette-Moraga Trail. We are pushing for a modern two-way cycle track to be included as part of this project.

Walnut Creek is moving ahead in releasing a draft Complete Streets Policy as part of new regional transportation requirements.
