You did it! 5 days early, we met our goal of 5,000 trips logged on CLIF’s 2 Mile Challenge. Thanks to all our amazing members and supporters CLIF will be donating $10 thousand dollars to support our advocacy work as a beneficiary of the 2 Mile Challenge this month.

Don’t let the fun stop here. Keep logging your trips to show that here in the East Bay we ride through rain and sun, on workdays and holidays, for work and for fun. All trips count, whether you are going to work, to the store, to school or out for a ride in the hills.

The 2-mile Challenge is an easy way for you to support Measure B1 and all of our bike advocacy work. It’s also an easy way to get your friends into bicycling by motivating them to make the better decision between the car keys or the bike lock when they head out in the morning. It’s especially easy when they know it helps support our nationally recognized Yes on B1 Campaign.

2 Mile Challenge Tips

  • sign up today and start logging your bike trips. Throughout November, your bike trips benefit us and our Measure B1 campaign
  • remember to log every trip per day, but there is a limit of 4 trips per day
  • you cannot back log your trips, so don’t forget to log your trips every day, or just add them to a future day if you rode less than 4 trips that future day
  • If you are an iPhone owner, download the “BikeBrain” app and log your trips on the go. You’ll need to set your “share” settings to the 2 Mile Challenge, as this app is used for other purposes as well.
  • share your trips and all the fun you are having on Facebook and Twitter

About six years ago, some employees at CLIF Bar created a game to encourage more people to get out of their cars a few trips per week, using a bike instead. The idea of tying bike riding to helping support bike advocacy organizations was a natural evolution of the program, and only fitting since the bike played such an important role in the creation of the CLIF Bar. So CLIF Bar is trying to ride forward into the future by trying to motivate more people to go by bike, and in the process, support advocacy groups doing the lion’s share of the good work out there.
