Robert Half International Finds Teamwork by Bicycle
Robert Half International provides staffing and professional services for companies in accounting and finance, creative services, legal, and information technology. Its corporate office in San Ramon is located next to the Iron Horse Regional Trail, making it an attractive location for biking to work.
Since 2016, the company has supported Friday Ride Club (FRC), a staff-led, biking club that leads group rides on weekdays and weekends. Daria Nagrodzka, a founder of FRC, said the club especially welcomes women and has led Bike to Work Day rides for women bike commuting for the first time.
“Thanks to Friday Ride Club, there’s more visibility around health and wellness, environment, and the importance of building a team and community,” said Diane Domeyer, Executive Director of the Creative Group, a staffing division of Robert Half.
The bike club has taken off thanks to employee-led enthusiasm combined with support by company leadership. The company sponsors lunches and allows flexible schedules for morning and lunch rides. The company also installed 16 new secure bike lockers this year to prevent bike theft and accommodate increasing numbers of people biking to work.
Executive Director Diane Domeyer said, “Biking is a mode of transportation that can get you to work, promote teamwork, and benefit the environment. It’s just terrific.”
