The Bay Area's biggest day for bicycling

Be a part of our growing bike movement! When you sign up, you’ll receive a map of Energizer Stations, bike offers and discounts, and a limited edition 2024 messenger bag.

Energizer Stations are the hubs where 20,000+ residents will pedal to visit on BTWD, pick up bags, and celebrate the joy of biking. Bring the fun to your business or gathering space– hosting is free, and we’ll provide everything you need!

Join us in Old Oakland for Drake’s Beer, a pedal-powered DJ set by Rock the Bike, and conversations with people who love biking. This event is free, and family friendly, but RSVP recommended.

New to biking, or ready to brush up on your skills? We offer FREE classes taught by certified instructors, in-person and online all over the Bay. Find the class that’s right for you!

Find Your Energizer Station

We’re hosting over 80 Energizer Stations alongside our local partners, all across the East Bay. Find one along your commute to work, ride to school, or throughout your city.

These community hubs are places to grab a limited-edition BTWD bag and celebrate the joy of riding a bike.

Keep the celebration going!

Log your rides in May towards our collective goal of 30,000 miles for the 30th anniversary of Bike to Work Day as part of the Bay Area Bike Challenge. We can’t do it without you!

About Bike to Work Day

Each year, we celebrate the entire month of May as Bike Month with a special day during the month designated as Bike to Work Day.

Pre-pandemic, Bike to Work Day (BTWD) was a celebration of bicycles as a fun and healthy way to get to work, as well as an opportunity for those who don’t usually bike commute to try it out. It’s also a time to advocate for improved bicycle infrastructure and safety.

During the pandemic and over the last couple of years, the event evolved into Bike to Wherever Days to encourage riders to get out and pedal to do errands, meet friends outdoors, and for some to get to work safely and easily.

Now in 2024, we embrace both events and encourage the community to pedal to do errands, visit friends and family, commute to work, and ride recreationally.
