Across U.S. cities, efforts to improve bicyclist and pedestrian safety often conflict with fire and emergency response priorities. In this webinar, Zachary Lamb, Assistant Professor of City & Regional Planning at UC Berkeley, will present research on the physical, institutional, and cultural factors driving these conflicts. He will also discuss strategies cities have used to resolve conflicts, such as designing protected bike lanes that accommodate emergency vehicles and expanding fire departments’ missions to include street safety.
When: Wednesday, August 20th 11AM
Where: Online via Zoom
